Should be paired with Zeiger's Sir! No Sir! for an excellent alternative history of Vietnam dissent. Both films make no claim to present a balanced view of the war in its totality (no documentaries with an aim to succeeding should); rather, they work to recover a narrative that's suffered erasure. Zeiger's film handles the politics more substantively, and F.T.A. bears witness to moments of solidarity on the ground.
