When several old friends persuade him to take in and hide wanted Palestinian operative Armiti Khalq (Rachel Ticotin), who was involved in a messy and high-profile assassination plot, washed-up journalist McWhirter (Fred Ward) finds the story of his career. But as McWhirter falls in love with Armiti, he runs into big trouble with his editor (Virginia Madsen), an FBI chief (Christopher Plummer) and a beautiful assassin (Penelope Ann Miller).
