Synopsis

Rock musician Sting stars in this black comedy as Fledge, a butler who begins work at the English estate of boorish scientist Sir Hugo Coal (Alan Bates) and immediately disrupts the household by seducing Coal’s wife, Lady Harriet (Theresa Russell). But when the poetry-writing beau (Steven Mackintosh) of the Coal’s daughter (Lena Heady) goes missing, Fledge’s affairs aren’t the only secrets that come to light. John-Paul Davidson directs.
