Synopsis

A portrait of the eccentric, tragic life of Carlo Gesualdo, Prince of Venosa. His Sixth Book of Madrigals is considered so far ahead of its time that it is a forerunner of 20th century music. Gesualdo was a mysterious, satanic figure, an alchemist who loved to do experiments on corpses. He brutally killed his wife when he caught her with her lover, then mummified both of their bodies and placed them at the entrance of the building in Naples where the affair took place. —Thessaloniki International Film Festival
