To fund his ambition of owning a bakery, ex-con Ray Gleason (Ted Danson) plans a heist of rare coins — which goes off well until Ray’s estranged son, Timmy (Macaulay Culkin), turns up and holds the loot hostage in this genial family comedy. Looking to spend quality time with his father, 11-year-old Timmy refuses to give back the cache unless dad goes along with his agenda. Macaulay Carson Culkin (born August 26, 1980) is an American actor. He became widely known for his potrayal of Kevin McCallister in Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. At the height of his fame, he was regarded as the most successful child actor since Shirley Temple.
Culkin began acting at the age of four. Early roles saw him appearing in a stage production of Bach Babies at the New York Philharmonic. He continued appearing in roles on stage, television, and in films throughout the 1980s. Notable parts in this period included an episode of the popular action series The Equalizer in which he played the victim of a kidnapping, and also in the TV movie The Midnight Hour. Howard Deutch (born September 14, 1950) is an American film director. His most recent theatrical release was My Best Friend’s Girl, starring Jason Biggs, Kate Hudson, Dane Cook, and Alec Baldwin. Deutch is perhaps best known for his collaboration with the late filmmaker John Hughes, having directed two of Hughes’ best known screenplays (of those that Hughes did not direct himself), Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful.
Deutch graduated from George W. Hewlett High School and then attended The Ohio State University. He began his career in the advertising department of United Artists Records, where his father, Murray Deutch, was company president. Deutch directed music videos for performers such as Billy Idol (“Flesh for Fantasy”) and Billy Joel (“Keeping the Faith”).
