Great God Gold

After narrowly escaping financial calamity during the 1929 stock market crash, greedy banker John Hart (Sidney Blackmer) joins up with gangsters to prey on those whom Black Friday left hopelessly debt-ridden. But when a plucky young gal and an intrepid reporter vow to expose Hart, he discovers his mindless worship of money may lead to his own undoing. Arthur Lubin directs this entertaining drama also starring Martha Sleeper and Regis Toomey.
