Hanoi Through Whose Eyes? starts with the image of Van Vuong, a blind guitarist born and raised in Hanoi. The artist desires to witness the beauty of the city for once in his life. Subsequently, the documentary tells stories of historical figures attached to Hanoi, from Hien Thanh, Nguyen Trai, Le Thanh Tong, Ho Xuan Huong, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Ngo Thi Nham to Bui Xuan Phai. Among the illustrations of historical stories, it also features Hanoi’s attractions such as West Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, together with daily life scenes of Hanoi people under the subsidy period.
