Synopsis

Life is tough for 16-year-old Jessica (Nash Laila), who lives in a poor part of Brazil with her mother (Magdale Alves) and stepfather, Biu (Servilio Holanda). Things only get worse after Biu rapes Jessica. Devastated, she runs away but, with no skills, is forced to become a prostitute. As she struggles to survive, Jessica dreams of a better life in this poignant Brazilian drama directed by Paulo Caldas.
