I think I got an abuse warning for this.
Without a more rigorous structure the film flounders, but captures the pain of adolescence beautifully.
All the technical elements are here, it's visually striking, and so on. The acting is spot on as well, and I liked spending time in this world with these characters and happenings. Still, some elements really bugged \me, like turning Harry into a complete pansy during the "moment" at the end and having characters appear to matter but never giving them a name or any sort of story...
Are you people high? This is by far the worst HP movie. The story and characters are darker! Let's fire the gaffer!
And here we have the worst Harry Potter movie ever. David Yates thinks that adapting darker characters and storyline means firing the gaffer.
An arresting opening and finale, sandwiching two and half hours of dullness.
This is the darkest installment in the Harry Potter-series that I've seen. As Harry unavoidably gets older and Voldemort gets more powerful, they're more and more bound to meet up. Until then, the latter's hench-people attack Harry's school and friends. At the same time, Harry is a little introspective. Some adventure, check, some love, check and some spells, check. Good one.
I don't ever expect the movies to do justice to the books, specially at the indulgent length they were written, but they could justify the character's portrayal. I know the actors are all trying to cope with the uncertainty of future in their personal lives as well as in film, but really? The film serves as a stepping stone into the future ones in the franchise but a disappointment nonetheless. Leaves you doubtful hmm
jardun esta en lo cierto...es verdad hay que separar por que si la comparás con el libro...esta peli es horrible...pero si la ves como una pelicula de entretenimiento..es eso una pelicula para pasar el rato :)
It is really bad compared to the book. Like, why the hell is he ditching the Prince's potion book. It makes no sense within the context of the story as seen in the movie. But I agree with you CARA that it is visually stunning. I liked lot's of the shots and so I give it three stars. And, Emma Watson is so fine.
Visually stunning, and a great story. Only pretentious idiots will attack the film for mediocrity
I was initially mad about how terrible this was at being faithful to the book, but upon seeing it for a second time, I realized that, artistically, it really was pretty good, much better than any of the other ones. The cinematography was a lot more developed, and some of the performances really stood out.
I'm saddened just at the fact that I was forced to watch this atrocity in the first place
Definitely the best Harry Potter yet. Did not like the ending though that was different of the book. Your not gonna find any type of enlightenment from this, but its just fun........and there needs to be more movies like this.
