Synopsis

A film on women based on Necati Cumalı’s five stories. First example of Atıf Yılmaz’s fantastic films with social content. Atıf Yilmaz’s fetish of late in his films, Müjde Ar, shines in her portrayal of Vasfiye, a small town coquette with men fighting over her. The men chasing her present a gallery of different types. For example, Emin (Aytaç Arman) who has been in love with Vasfiye since childhood, the shy Rüstem (Macit Koper), the womanizer doctor Fuat (Yılmaz Zafer) and the shrewd provincial jeweller Hamza (Levent Yılmaz). Ordinary, affectionate characters and a film that is enjoyable to watch with its warm atmosphere. —Intersinema
