A satiric critique that dares to go where not many had gone before. Shot in a somewhat film-noir style, it delves into the problems haranguing Mexico and moves to show the continuation of these problems. Openly denouncing the political system, the story necessitates one to feel strongly for the subject. I feel the film would be more poignant sans the comedy; it opens it to a broader audience, but dilutes the issues.

Starts off with a funny, caustic humour, but the tone changes and wears off, drags, stretches in an unfunny, unsurprising second half. The idea was better than the outcome. Great leading performance.

Un interesante trabajo de Luis Estrada que no dejò de levantar ampula en su tiempo,por tratarse de una dura critica en tono de comedia hacia las clases politicas de Mèxico,en la que ya no se aludia,sino que se señalaba directamente a los partidos en el poder (especialmente al P.R.I.) en turno. Años despues, Estrada intento repetir el exito con Un mundo maravilloso,pero su ideologia pejista diò al traste con el asunto
