Fantastic newspaper scoop classic by Howard Hawks. The dialogue is indeed worthy of it's reputation. Hilarious and very rapid-fire! Having Rosalind Russel and Grant as leads is a casting dream, and Bellamy is also perfect as the poor rube she almost marries!
Rapid fire dialogue reigns in this story based on The Front Page. Not the definitive screwball comedy but it comes pretty damn close.
Frustratingly uneven, but Rosalind Russell's performance and the film's depiction of working women more than made up for it.
There is no life outside the group.
Truly horrid ending, and otherwise considerably overrated. Some witty lines, but not the classic I was hoping for. Watched Arsenic and Old Lace the night before and had a much better time watching that one.
My favorite of all of Howard Hawks' films! The razor sharp dialogue, the frenetic pace, the venomous narcissism of the two main characters! What's not to love about it?
it's a pity they only made one film together. what a great screen couple
Hawks doing a screwball comedy with the impeccable Cary Grant and the result is plain badass!
Awesome; one feels a need to watch it again as soon as it's over.
It seems witty so why not give it a go.
Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell have truly amazing chemistry.
A fantastic film, but I feel that its comedy hides a mean-spiritedness.
brilliant. One of the wittiest scripts for a film ever.
The film not only represents everything lost to the "Golden Age of Film", but to me its simply just a movie. It doesn't look for some kind of intellectual appeal, just pure cinema to it's audience.
WHO CAN TALK FASTER???: The Movie.
How many times can you laugh while watching a film? This one will make you lose count.
Forget about the plot, just tune into the dialog. It crackles with wit... "He's charming, isn't he?" " His grandfather was a snake."
LOL GINO. This movie rocks.
They really don't make them like they used to. This film was dazzling! The scenes were put together so masterfully. And the cast, well...do I really need to say anything? Wonderful cast and a wonderful film.
Snap. Crackle. Pop.
Amazing, wildly entertaining movie.
Like this one, specially because of Rosalind Russell. Cary Grant could be better (sometimes overacting) but in the overall it is OK for me. As a journalist, I enjoy it very much: it is a situation that perfectly can be real. And very amusing too.
Rosalind Russell was fabulous in the movie, but Cary Grant was horribly miscast. He was very wooden in the movie. The mix between the comedy and drama was very well done. The ending pissed me off so much. It ruined the movie for me.
If only I could be as great as Cary Grant in this picture...so cool, so smart, always with a quick wit and something to say, the list goes on.
Also some of the best dialogue ever filmed.
Hilarious! I'm always disappointed when it ends. The fast paced banter is perfectly performed.
