Lonely middle-aged businessman Benjamin Hoffman (Peter Sellers) has been in love with secretary Janet Smith (Sinead Cusack) for years. After discovering some damaging information about her fiancée, Benjamin blackmails Janet into spending a week with him. But what began as a seemingly sinister ordeal slowly reveals itself to be an uncommon bond of tender yearnings, dark secrets and surprising realizations about the possibilities of love.
Absolutely compelling. The film starts without even letting you get a full inhale before your pulled into some of the most clever dark dialogue I've seen in some time. Sellers is positively on point as the strange psychotic Hoffman. And who doesn't have a bit of a thing for Sinead Cusack? Quite a delightful little gem that pays off in full. Many great monologues.
