Ever seen a movie that you just love every single shot,frame...every single line...all the little details of it, from beginning to end? well that's Hot Fuzz for me!
Was quite underwhelmed by the pic in 2007 finding it inferior to the earlier 'Shaun of the Dead." Five years on I stand corrected. This is far superior in execution, story and genre satire. Cast is a true who's who of UK cult stardom and excel here wholeheartily. Wright and Pegg's script truly understands the genre its sending up. Sometimes first impressions can be so wrong.
I once thought that, and still question whether, art in general is a waste of time. The doubt remains due to films such as this. The only part I enjoyed was the brief, verbatim reference to Lynch's 'Lost Highway.' The stupidity of this film is directly inversely commensurate to Shakespeare's genius. 'Hot Fuzz' fucking sucks.

At first glance Hot Fuzz seems to be the usual British Comedy, this time about a police man obligated to change from the cluttering metropolis to the calm country side. But then, one hour into the movie, it surprises us with a thrilling orientation twist and all of a sudden it seems we're in Shaun Of The Dead with old people instead of Zombies which add up in awesome proportions. Plus, there's Bad Boys II references.
Several people recommended this film, but it's just not my style. A modern, smart-ass vibe. Not interested.
Just like Shaun of the Dead, best viewed if you interpret the film as a satire about the organization you're working for.
Absolutely hilarious! The casting of this film is literally brilliant and the story is just absurd in all the right ways. I loved every waking moment of it.
Really loved Timothy Dalton in this movie for some reason but it was a great movie on the whole.
The always likable Simon Pegg and Nick Frost strike again. I found this a step down from Shaun of the Dead, but a good time nonetheless. Watching it again after having seen director Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World shows just how much of a visual style and eye he's developed in the meantime. Some of the editing technique on this film is already quite jarringly dated, but the writing is sharp and funny.
I don't know a lot of entirely successful parodic movies. Hot Fuzz certainly belongs to this category because it also has its own life. Masterpiece.
