For fans of the hay-day of tasteless American horror (70's and 80's), this was actually a nice homage. Like Tyler mentioned below me, it was also supposedly butchered by the studios in attempt to make it suitable for a mainstream audience. I bet that version is cool too. But its no surprise it only took one OK movie to make a guy named "Rob Zombie"'s ego large enough to direct the worthless shit he made after this.
