Absolutely garbage. Poorly shot, poorly written and most importantly poorly acted. This is a TV movie, which I have no idea why it was adopted by the Criterion Collection, and it's a prime example of nepotism... Lindsay Crouse is horrible.

The actors he casts aren't always up to his scripts. It happened in Spanish Prisoner and here, too. Lindsay Crouse is terrible.

I don't get this, why do people like this so much? The dialogue is shit, the story is bland and predictable, Mamet pulled a scam by making this piece of shit.

Not Mamet's finest moment as a director. The plot and dialogue are superb but the acting is flat. If you read Mamet's book, On Directing Film, you may know why
