I Love Beijing is a convincing film about a bleak life in a Chinese city, dreary landscapes of pollution, concrete, and rundown living conditions. Although this film succeeds in portraying a difficult life in Beijing, it does little, to connect you to the characters or why the viewer should care about any of these people. A movie that is worth a viewing for the concrete landscapes and construction sites but not for anyone looking for interesting characters and story line.

Just watched I Love Beijing and really liked it and highly recommend it. It has a very simple loose storyline that follows a taxi driver who is trying to make a living. He might be more successful if he didn’t spend so much time cruising the city trying to pick up beautiful girls. The film is also a fascinating portrait of what is probably one of the most interesting cities in the world at the moment while it undergoes an explosive transformation and growth.
