His world in complete disorder after his break-up with a famous actress, Carter, a young TV writer, goes to suburban Detroit to care for his sickly Grandmother and heal his broken heart. Along the way he forms a special bond with the family that lives across from his Grandma, and changes the live of each woman. In the course of this, as is required in every film—and thus the world, he changes his own life as well.—Rotten Tomatoes
I actually really enjoyed this. My favourite bit was after Adam Brody got punched and that other dude just appeared out of nowhere and BAM! So damn good. It's not what I thought it would be. So pleasantly surprised.
I watched this movie three times on a plane to China and I hated it, fell in love with it and then just liked it. I was twelve and everyone was so sexy. They should have accentuated how he was a depressed porn writer a little more though, just to spice it up. God, Kirsten Stewart irks me.
One of the more underrated and underseen films of the last decade. While obviously flawed, the film's effectiveness is surprisingly strong and it's the best thing most of the actors involved have done in a while.
