and the whole island setting is terrific right?
This one is routinely declared to be the lesser of Lewton's films, but I loved it. Sure, the action drags a little bit in comparison to other "horror thrillers" but that closing sequence is just shattering - beautifully shot and genuinely creepy. Personally, I never found the story to be drag as much as others complained about. One of the best horror-thrillers of the decade, in my opinion.
