Bud Abbott and Lou Costello star in this children’s film, which begins with Jack (Abbott) reading the titular fairy tale to a spoiled brat (David Stollery). Jack soon nods off and finds himself cast in the role of his fairy-tale namesake, who takes the family cow to the local butcher (Costello). The butcher swindles Jack with the magic beans, which sprout into a giant stalk that the pair climbs, encountering a man-eating giant along the way.
