British teenager Jade leads what appears to be an ordinary, small-town life – working overtime at a shabby caravan park and going to swim practice whenever she can. But Jade is burdened by a dark secret – a deeply personal trauma that has been screened from the outside world.
Prolific director Daniel Elliot retains his trademark austere approach to narrative, communicating an incredible desire for intimacy in the total absence of it. At the film’s core is the question of how the tension between the external and the internal can be resolved. —Stockholms filmfestival
