No wires, no CG action film starring Rina Takeda (High Kick Girl!) as Ayaka Kurenai, daughter of a long-lineage of a formidable Karate family. As a child, her family is attacked by an unknown gang and her father killed, and younger sister taken by the gang, along with the legendary black-belt that has been passed on from within her family.
Left for dead, the film then forwards to Ayaka as a young lady employed as an unassuming cinema usher. She jumps to the attention of the gang after her heroics in capturing a bag-thief at the cinema are posted all over the internet.
The gang realised that the black-belt they took wasn’t the real one, and having raised Ayakas’ sister as merciless killing machine they deploy her to finish Ayaka off and take the real black-belt from her.
Rina Takeda is a real life Ryukyu Shorin-ryu Karate champion. –Terracotta Far East Film Festival
The acting is actually pretty good compared to most Japanese movie I've seen during that last 5-6 years (and indeed, that is scary...)
