Moments of banter and wit ... I, as assumed the target audience is meant to, do draw some personal connection and relation.
Metropolitan directed by Lite-Stillman. Had its moments, but I didn't like it very much. Forced and inorganic.
I'm sure a lot of these lines read well, but when you actually hear someone speak them aloud, it sounds a bit forced. Chris Eigeman helped to save the film. "I've gotta go bang this freshman."
I'm probably going to end up watching this every day after I graduate. Should be fun times. :|
Jesus CHRIST I love this movie so much. EVERY SINGLE LINE IS FUNNY, EVER SINGLE LINE. Also: everything Chis Eigemen does is golden.
I think I dated Max's twin. After we broke it off, he started dating an 18 year old girl. If this film hadn't been made in 1995, I would swear Max's character was based on my ex. That was a stupid antidote. Apologies. Also, COOKIE MAN: PRO-LIFE?
Some funny points. I fucking hate college movies. They seriously depress me. Sigh.
The writing and acting in this is just stunning. It makes me think how few movies you can watch that are truly witty anymore. This was like a good Hal Hartley movie if he decided to do naturalism. Only it's probably even better than that.
As a twenty-something know-it-all, I have identified with few films more. My friends and aquaintances seem to fit too well into this world. Baumbach is a mastermind of witty banter.
