The rythm of this movie is amazing. The only thing I didn't like too much was the music, the rest is awesome.

The first film by Kitano that I ever saw, what a magical day it was when I was introduced to this lovely, sensitive piece.

This is the first bright movie which I've seen Kitano's . Non violence even it has violence. Ex-boxer is a jealous bastard who makes sin to same dojo! So that, beware of other people's influence! BTW: Ryo Ishibashi(Audition's by Miike) was yakuza boss. Hehe

I was at showing of this film when Mr. Kitano was simultaneously displaying his paintings in the lobby of the theatre. Mr. K's art depicts the secret lives of men. One of Kitano's many masterpieces of the 90's. (He ruled that decade)

One of Kitano's most melancholy films--filled with quiet despair.

I'm surprised no ones commented on this one as of yet, I still see it as one of Kitano's better works. Somewhat reminiscent of JSA or Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring in its heavily cyclical nature. By film's end, nothing has really changed...
