American version inserts “news” footage from the United Nations news desk. This can’t help the movie, though I haven’t seen the Japanese version to compare. Still, I had fun watching it.

The movie is low budget silliness. Some of the fighting gets a bit fierce and I wonder how the guys in the suits fared. And I’m pretty sure the islanders on Kong’s island were Japanese actors in black face. That only caught my attention toward the end of those scenes so I didn’t get to really examine the actors to try to confirm. Some pretty darned attractive island girls in the mix, so that was good. For those people who say they don’t want to have to think about their entertainment – here you go.
