Possessing a stark, indeed quite cinematic mise en scene, this transfer of the play into the animate medium of film also comprises a slight abridgement of the text, with the newfound succinctness in particular sections - though not all - resulting in some further substantive sharpness. Also recognised on Brook’s part is an acute understanding of the play’s emotions, moving beyond standard readings and conveying greater depth behind characters’ motives than those. For its part, fairly intriguing, distinctive a take.

Es un termino que, personalmente, no reconozco, pero el sanbenito de "una pelicula adelantada a su tiempo" puede aplicarse a esta chingoneria sin ningun problema. Obscura estetica videoclipera, cortes rapidos (una ediciòn verdaderamente salvaje) y actuaciones de un estupendo reparto, dejan como pendejas a las cintas de Greenaway y Branagh basadas en Shakespeare.
