Chow’s films drip with joy for life, self awareness in humor and an enthusiasm for the film itself. Like a DJ he splices and samples aspects, old and new, to create something that can not only be described as creative, but as truly unique to a single film maker. (“Maker” in the purest sense, as he writes, directs, produces and stars in his films). His films somehow spawn comedic dialogue scenes with the rhythm and pacing of a highly choreographed fight scene, and fight scenes that over flow with Americana slap stick and Buster Keaton homage.
