This story is about affairs of the heart. Edmond’s heart isn’t that strong anymore. Nevertheless, it does still beat to the rythm of a fierce independance, which is why he rejects the idea of going to a nursing home or accepting Rose’s help, the visiting nurse who is sent out to his flat to take care of him. But even if he tries to impose his opposition, Rose stands up to him. She knows only too well how tough it is when your heart cannot accept the unacceptable, because hers is still aching. One day, however, a bad fall forces Edmond to let Rose into his life. –Iris Productions
C'est une bonne nouvelle : Michel Bouquet a survécu à François Mitterand. Il a toujours l'oeil vif et l'humour acerbe. "La petite chambre " est un petit film drôle et attendrissant, touchant même lorsque Rose (Florence Loiret Caille) raconte la perte de son bébé. Cela rappelle "Les petites fugues" (1979) d'Yves Yersin, où l'on voyait également un papy s'échappant dans les montagnes suisses pour y trouver un dernier bonheur. Rien de fracassant dans la réalisation, mais un peu de malice, de complicité et de tendresse, ça ne se refuse pas.
A really beautiful movie. The story of 2 persons that have their own problems, but they become close... Very attaching characters and story. One of the rare swiss movie... Un très beau film. L'histoire de 2 personnes qui ont leur problèmes respectifs, mais qui deviennent très proches... une histoire et des personnages très attachants.
