A woman and her baby hitch a ride with a lonely truck driver through a mutual acquaintance and head out from Paraguay to Argentina, along the way forging an unexpected and often unspoken connection. A film filled with silences that says so much while hardly saying anything. A strangely touching and unique road trip movie that captures the rhythms of the road and awkward, tentative friendship. A disarming gem.

Interesting as a character drama but the problem is that it uncomfortably fits into the stereotype of 'World Cinema' from the 2000s onward, the same visual look, a minimalist composition interchangeable from other films from this category, and little sense of a voice being shown, which means that for a film that is about a growing relationship there is not that much emotional connection within it.

Amazingly confident director. A script that can fit in 5 phrases. The absolute road movie.

would have been perfect if it had ended 2 minutes before it actually did

I needed this movie after the assault of a Christopher Nolan Batman double bill. A film that is so confident that it is not afraid of silence and stillness. Damn good.

Absolutely loved this! Hardly a word spoken, incredibly simple story but subtle, warm and tender with no manipulation of the viewer with crass 'mood music' (it's up to you and your sensitivity and intelligence whether you 'get it', or not), for me it captures the essence of humanity. Had tears streaming down my face at the end, what an absolutely beautiful film.

Demanding and tiring. The baby is the engine of the truck.

A solitary man who drives a logging truck for a living, has to give a lift to a stranger. As a bond begins to develop this act leaves him both challenged and conflicted. It's incredibly simple yet surprisingly moving. That which is unspoken sometimes speaks the loudest. The baby is fascinating. 4 stars

This film is the opposite of an action movie but you get plenty of time to see the emotions and feelings develop and unfold. The baby girl is truly amazing and the timing of her smiles and reactions is perfect. Great joy to start the New Year with a bit of Spanish...

Not really the aesthetics I love the most, but it's still pretty touching.
