I seem to recall this had a weak synposis (alternatively a completely spoiling one) and now there is none visible what so ever. A new one on the way? Re-watched it today at our local cinematheque and it's utterly spellbinding. Photo by Doyle + the subliminal soundtrack is to die for. God I love it.

Other-worldly atmosphere, everything fits perfect like puzzle pieces, music, colors, people, places, feelings. One of my favorite asian movies, I'd recommend it to anyone .

Was expecting more, some other approach to the subject, I guess. It's a good film, but I think it's a superficial view of such strong feelings as loneliness, alienation, detachment from society, love... I mean, I didn't share the pain with characters and that "comedy-moments" just worsened the film. It was very calm, and not so thoughtful as I expected.

yes, it is beyond beautiful, since the D.O.P is, unsurprisingly, the awesome Christopher Doyle. But this is also beyond sloww, with a preposterous story, uninspiring repetitive score, and nothing to really said about. In a nutshell : an In The Mood For Love wannabe

Was expecting a lot from this film, considering it stars Tadanobu Asano and Takashi Miike, so it's my own fault that I was so disappointed. Some nice visuals, but has almost no depth to speak of.

A very calm and thoughtful work of art. The mix of strong plot along with performances full of character is so easy to relate to, yet at the same time so dreamlike in it's nature. It will leave you thinking and savoring every little detail.
