Actually the girl was a really old man.
Had a sad thought at the end (when they're on the train) that in 10 years Oskar would become Hakan. Only vampires can stay 12 forever.
This film was a complete surprise for me, just when I was getting fed up with vampires i watch this one. Very good film about the birth of dependency between two kids. The girl is awesome.
That was just his appearance, maybe made to please his male partner. It also helped him to get intimate with a little boy.
it's not all about the blood. the stark environments & the wonderful compositional shapes, make it very pleasing to watch. not to mention the wonderful story between the two main characters. in a world of increasing ease of human interaction, it is refreshing to see the beauty in random meetings & the possibilities of not knowing everything all at the same time.
Metáfora del amor y la soledad contada a través de niños y vampiros. Y encima le sale bien la mezcla al director. Una de mis pelis favoritas de estos últimos 3 años
So there's hope for vampires in Cinema. At least in this dark, silent atmosphere, silence only broken by voices, often of children. Superb scenes work better alone than composing this twisted love story. In fact, I'm stuck with the scenes, even the most famous one that wasn't the first time I saw. But when it's not trying to be so fucked up as when Swimming May Not Be Safe and Let Her In, it didn't grab my attention.
I know it' sacrilege to say but I definitely prefer the American version to this one, especially in the performances of the boy, the characterization of his home life, the cinematography, and the direction. The swedish version definitely has its strengths over the remake (the androgyny of Elli for one) but Matt Reeves knocked it out of the park for me. I'm glad they both exist.
Great vampire movie. Beautifully filmed. This movie definitely makes vampire movies/books like twilight look even more like crap. Loved it!
A dark and has a bit elements of sweet children's tale. Romantic and horror in the same time. Very artistic, beautiful cinematography and somehow the movie feels like a literature of how its exploring the nature of the good and the evil. However, it's a bit disturbing and controversial for the minor parts of the brief nudity from the child actors!!
"Let the right one in" o "Criatura de la noche"......que susto...susto...ayyyyyyyyyy ..pelicula sueca, onda un niño conoce a una pendex vampira cochina y se enamora igual de ella pq todo es tan desolado que al final la soledad de esos paises es lo que mas da miedo....todo tan frio, tan distante, tanta nieve, tanta noche.......susto
