Lovingly directed by his son Carl-Gustaf, Light Keeps Me Company offers an intimate and moving look at the life of the legendary Swedish cinematographer. Film clips, rare home movies, family photographs, and behind-the-scenes footage are interwoven with interviews featuring an array of film legends who’ve worked with him over the years.
Doesn't go into either the "how to" of what Nykvist was doing, or really even why he chose cinematography. It's a lot of anecdotes about what a great guy he was, or what he was like to work with, but that's about it. Unfortunately, it's likely that when I think back on this movie, I'll probably remember it as a nice enough missed opportunity.
