I remember watching this semi-frequently as a kid in the early 90s. The only part I really remembered was the finale with the bad guy, though I myself must have been teetering towards Slumberland since my memory of that scene is far more ethereal than the real thing. Anyway, it's a cool movie.
My reaction to the quality of the animation was immediate. For a film made in 1989, the animation stands quite well even today. The story itself bears the burden of predictability and choppiness (the latter towards the end) and the dubbing is up to par with the average childrends film of the eighties, but to see the animation is reason enough to see this movie. Besides, Nancy Cartright (Bart) voices a page in this movie--I could totally tell which one too!
