A magical musical comedy which centers on the reticent and reclusive, Laura Hoff, who lives with her mother in a small English seaside town. Her father has died, leaving her no-one to listen to classic songs with, and a mother who is refining her sexuality with a sleazy London talent agent. She withdraws to her room, talking to no-one but singing to herself. Her talent is to impersonate famous singing stars, from Judy Garland to Marlene Dietrich. When Ray, the talent agent hears her, he tries to persuade her to go on the stage as a way to honor her dad’s memory. When Little Voice’s private gift becomes a public spectacle, she stands at the crossroads of losing her soul – or finding her own true voice. –Inbaseline
Nydelig filmopplevelse. Historien er skjønn, den britiske humoren er midt i blinken, og Jane Horrocks synger fantastiskt!
For reasons I cannot describe, I absolutely, absolutely love this film, especially the last performance, and that perfect Marilyn impersonation, singing, ‘Happy Birthday, Mr President’, and Ewan McGregor’s solid supporting act, and those pigeons.
Es una historia bonita, que puede caer en lo tedioso, pero en general es una película entretenida con excelentes interpretaciones y con pocas pretensiones que logra ubicarse en un espacio memorable de las pantallas.
