Really, really good. Forman is a great director.
'Loves of A Blonde' firmly holds its place as one of the classics of the Czech New Wave. Forman provides an interesting look at the dynamics of relationships and gender, providing the viewer with an interesting social and moral exploration alongside incredible cinematography and frames. This film fully makes you aware of the fleeting presence of life. A definite favorite.
I Fidanzati, which Joel mentions, is quite a lot better in my opinion, but this is still very good. Funny and moving.
A film about a very realistic love affair and obsessive youths. Forman's best.
A terrific work of quiet simple beauty. It reminded me why I love the works of the neorealist, a non-professional cast, with a slow moving but so humanistic plot. Quite hilarious as well! It reminded me of I Fidanzanti as well as Milos' follow-up The Firemen's Ball. A pure delight.
Brilliant and very funny film!!
dünyanın en gereksiz filmi, criterion ilkdefa dandik bir film katmış bünyesine..
i read the upcoming Second Run dvd is better than the Criterion, in terms of general picture quality.
let's wait and see.
Grim movie, between Italian neo-realism and French New Wave, with the peculiar Czech touch. Not recommended to depressed ones but highly recommended to curious ones. I vainly tried to imagine this film in color. Impossible. Tell me if you can.
equal parts funny, strange, and sad.
Fantastic, a wonderful film.
Felt very realistic to me
La cravate qui passe de l'arbre à la mère du pianiste. je ne sais pas s'il y avait quelque chose à comprendre mais ça m'a bien plu.
Some high humor -- dancehall scene with soldier hiding his wedding ring; parents and son in bed together. But ultimately a sad tale for Andula.
Eastern Europe melanchonic love story!
