Not on par with Falstaff (Chimes At Midnight) or Othello —Which uses a more rapid editing style in order to hide the low budgetness while MacBeth utilizes it’s limitations to great visual affect— but it’s not a lesser Welles film.
Amazing use of composition and mise en scene are truelly beautiful to watch. There’s a scene after MacBeth commits his deed where he looks at his hands while walking down the stairs that feels and looks so odd but fits perfectly with the characters mind set. A gem that’s appreaciation is much over due.
