Macgruber is the best SNL movie ever for two reasons,
A: it is funny on every level and never second guesses itself by constantly topping one outrageous moment with another.
B: One of the few movies made from a TV show where its actually worth it, meaning that the movie offers you so much that you will never see on TV.
I doubt i will see a scene on SNL where someone laughs off the fact that he made his ex-best friends girlfriend get an abortion so that he could “start anew”

To be loosely based on the premise of a couple short skits spoofing MacGyver, stretching it out to an hour and a half is… a stretch. Even worse is the fact that the skits are actually really funny.
Nonetheless, MacGruber delivers some of the stupidest, raunchiest, most idiotic humor to the big screen… yet, it is one of the funnest and funniest movies this year.
Will Forte owns as MacGruber, where you’d think with the many mistakes he tends to make, he seems to trip his way to a solution and stumble his way to success. Val Kilmer seems to get the idiocy of the movie and just rolls with it as the (un?)fortunately named villain. Ryan Phillippe also gets in on the act, providing a naive grounding to MacGruber that slowly breaks away, and for the most part makes sense… in an insane sort of way.
I must say, after Gentleman Broncos and Hot Rod, if you don’t get humor like this, I’m afraid I’d have to call it a dealbreaker.
