I agree that it wasnt as bad as I expected, it had some good laughs. But its poorly executed, the MacGruber character becomes a little bit annoying and Val Kilmer seems to be asleep. So, why bother?

Not as bad as you’d expect, but nothing special either. The cast is likable and it has its moments, but the humor is scattershot and the plot never quite builds enough momentum. It’s nice to see a comedy that doesn’t skimp on the production values, but this one is ultimately pretty forgettable.

I really thought I might like MacGruber but this one joke film keeps recycling the same tired jokes over and over lowering the laugh quotient. Five minutes of the MacGruber character on SNL is funny but a feature length film with repetitive sex and butt jokes is lame.

Seriously. This is far better than you'd assume it is. So don't fall prey to the "IT LOST MONEY OPENING WEEKEND" trope.

Stupid in an amazing way. Hilarious and perfectly captures what it set out to do. I'm not going to lie, there were several parts in the film that had me laughing insanely loud in the theater for at least a minute straight.
