Thomas “Tom” McGrath (born August 7, 1964) is an American voice actor and animator who is best known for co-directing (with Eric Darnell) the 2005 comedy Madagascar and its sequels, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa in 2008 and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted in 2012. He has also worked as a voice actor on other DreamWorks animated features like Flushed Away in 2006 and Shrek the Third in 2007. He also stepped in on Flushed Away to help make improvements prior to its release.

Conrad Vernon IV (born July 11, 1968) is an American director, storyboard artist, writer, and voice actor, best known for his work on the DreamWorks animated film series Shrek as well as other films such as Monsters vs. Aliens and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.
Life and career
Vernon, a native of Lubbock, Texas, studied at CalArts and worked as a storyboard artist on Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World, 2 Stupid Dogs, Rocko’s Modern Life, Nightmare Ned, Morto the Magician.
In 1996, he joined DreamWorks, where he worked as a storyboard artist on Antz. After Antz proved a success as the first animated feature film to be produced by DreamWorks Animation, Vernon signed on as a writer for Shrek, where he was responsible for the Gingerbread Man, and eventually voiced that character. Eric Darnell (born 1960) is an American director, writer, songwriter, animator and occasional voice actor. He is best known for co-directing Antz with Tim Johnson, as well as co-directing Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted with Tom McGrath.
Darnell was born in Kansas. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas, where he was a writer for the school newspaper the Harbinger. He studied broadcast journalism at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After graduating in 1983, he spent four years working on experimental films, which helped him get accepted into the Experimental Animation program study at the California Institute of the Arts.
He directed the music video for the 1989 R.E.M. song “Get Up”.
