at first i didn’t in all realize that red dragon (2002) was a remake of it but everything seemed just so familiar. It doesn’t happen often that remakes are done better but here i have to admit, that i far more enjoyed Red dragon than Manhunter. Acting seemed far better in dragon and ending specially was done with more effort put in it, because here a lot of the things bothered me. Specially the ending which totally sucked!

Pathetic shit. One of the stupidest films ever made. An interesting story gets bogged down in a lot of incredibly cheesy early 80s-looking camerawork and artdirection: this flick looks like a bunch of really bad early MTV videos strung together, rather like Pauline Kael’s complaint about AMERICAN GIGOLO: each shot looks like the cover of an album you’d never want to play.
There are those find this film superior to Demme’s SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. There also those who voted for George W. Bush. Twice. And would have voted him in for a third term.
MANHUNTER is garbage, unworthy of anything but the incinerator.
