Th writing, acting, and directing are all stellar. I can understand this losing Best Picture to No Country for Old Men. But losing Best Screenplay to fucking Juno? Maybe if Clayton used a hamburger phone...

I have a love hate relationship with Clooney's films (more hate) but this movie was amazing

We now life in an era where selfish individualism is the norm. This should be no surprise, considering what history has taught us about human nature; the thing that makes the modern world so unique is that it has given us the superstructure needed to maintain a distance with the others we are aggravating. If I hurt someone, I don't have to deal with him, at least not directly. Call my lawyer.

The movie is a bit heavy I think because it's sharply written, perhaps a little too overambitious? And I wasn't too sure what is going on during the first hour of the movie, I almost gave up, but slowly discovered if one pays attention. However, this move gave me a feeling too eagerly awaited for the ending. Maybe because it's just wasn't for me. Really though, who wants to watch movies about this stuff? Workaholics?

A great thriller, the ending scene reminds me in a way of Polanski's "The Ghost Writer". Tilda Swinton and Tom Wilkinson are such amazing actors. She deserved her academy award.

Very good written drama. George Clooney and Tom Wilkinson prove why they're both very popular actors. I was intrigued by the Tilda Swinton character, i wished they would show more of her internal conflict. Very Good.

This bored the hell out of me... but in fairness, I was really tired, and therefore watching George Clooney was a mistake. Maybe deserves a re-watch.

Cracker jack dialog, even pacing, and a flawless cast make this film stand head and shoulders above nearly every other law thriller out there.

easily one of the finest dramatic thrillers you'll see in recent memory. Smart and doesn't pander for a second...the ending was top notch and acting superb! I would go out on a limb and say this is one of the top 25 films of the decade for me.

I liked the non-linear plot structure, fabulous acting and overall look to the film (shadowy and dark for the most part), but something was missing for me to prevent a 5 star rating.

One of the best and most breathtaking opening monologues ever! Tremendous perfomances from Cloony and Wilkinson and a tightly written and admirably spare script. As much a I love this I never really understood why Swinton got the Oscar for her performance here. Its good but it didn't knock me out.

One of George Clooney's Best Performances, a slow beginning, but I would watch George Clooney Read the Dictionary and it would be interesting, overall a good film.
