Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
Viktor visits Taiwan with his mother Kicki. He secretly hopes to meet the father he has never seen, but his mother’s heart is completely elsewhere. Conflicts arise between them, and as Viktor gets closer with his Taiwanese friend Didi, the gap between mother and son widens.
Part cross-cultural road trip, part touching mother-son LGBT drama, Miss Kicki is a well-earned vehicle for the great Pernilla August. Best known for her work with Ingmar Bergman (including a Cannes prizewinning turn in The Best Intentions), August excels here as the frisky, fun-loving Miss Kicki.
