Recently saw it again, and I loved it a lot more than I did the first time around. Oh so beautiful!

Hated this on first viewing, loved it on second. Imaginative and powerful with strong performances all round. Incredible.

how come "you don't want to"? I found your comment to be slightly amusing though. You gotta love that sequence of the falling sisters with silver mt.zion on the soundtrack huh?

Weird but lovable. Like an old stuffed panda with a missing arm and a spot of dried vomit left over there by your younger brother.

Why do you people demand destinations to ideas! why do they need to go somewhere? wtf does that even mean! they are in motion, that's sufficient. That is development, not developed.

A think a film has to say something, no matter how big or small. Up until after the performance nothing actually changes in therms of plot or the characters. It becomes boring quickly and feels pointless. I think the film redeems itself at the end with Diego Luna's character self realisation. I think that should have featured more prominently from much earlier on.

That was Herzog, yes. And it's not his first in Korines films ... I agree with all said below, but it somehow didn't bother me this time. I even enjoyed all the loose ends in a way. Maybe I'm getting tired of coherency, but then again, it might also be only the friday night hangover ...

Was that Werner Herzog? The movie hints at ideas but doesn't develope anything.

It's... err... well. I really don't know. This is my first Korine film. I like how it looked, and how promising it seemed in the beginning. But somewhere between the castle and the nuns and the sick sheep, it lost me.

Even the charisma of Werner Herzog cannot save this pointless, dull movie. I don't care if it was meant to be pointless or sporadic, it was absolute torture to sit through all the indulgence of Harmony Korine. Probably the ideas for both of the stories came up during a marijuana filled discussion, but it was too late for Korine to realize that he had streched the jokes too far. On the plus side, there are a few good shots, but that's about it.

After Gummo, I think Mister Lonely is not one of Korine's best films, but it is not a bad one either...

It´s an uncomfortable film, bitter but with the extremely harsh and truthful on the one hand I like the depth of the main characters, not seen in most films in non-commercial and commercial, the story it tells is pretty good Korine to my taste, is a lesson in good cinema.

Staggeringly pointless. The most poignant aspect was my permanent frown reflected in the laptop screen. Unfortunately being stuck in a travelodge and having paid 5 euro I was obliged to watch the entirety. By the time Samantha Morton does the decent thing I too was searching about for a sturdy hook. Anybody who thinks this is art, and not a string of back of the napkin nonsense, is entirely deluded.
