Emidio Greco (20.10.1938) was born in Leporano, Italy. In 1964 he graduated from Experimental Center of Cinema, where he later started teaching, at the same time working in the field of cinema. In 1973 Greco makes a short documentary INTERVISTA A SALVADOR ALLENDE: LA FORZA E LA RAGIONE, and 1974 marks his feature debut with L’INVENZIONE DI MOREL/ MOREL’S INVENTION. Among his following are such documentaries as NIENTE DA VEDERE NIENTE DA NASCONDERE (1978) and L’ARTE E LA SOCIETÀ (1988), and feature films EHRENGARD (1982), UNA STORIA SEMPLICE/ A SIMPLE STORY (1991, awarded by Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists), IL CONSIGLIO D’EGITTO/ THE COUNCIL OF EGYPT (2002), L’UOMO PRIVATE (2007). —MIFF
