Muriel, a 17 year-old French girl who prefers girls to boys, has no intention of ever changing. When Muriel leaves home to study in Paris, she becomes a self-determined sexual being and learns the hard lessons of love. She comes under the spell of the seductive, sophisticated and vivacious Nora, who reveals in her sensuality and flirts mercilessly with tormented young woman. Born 1958 in Oujda, Morocco, Frenchman Philippe Faucon studied Art at the University of Aix-en-Provence before working as an assistant to Jacques Demy and Leos Carax. His first film L’Amour (1990) on idle suburbian adolescents won the Prix Perspectives at Festival de Cannes.
