You know how it's said of people with great voices that "you could listen to them read the phone book all day and never grow tired of hearing it"? Well, that's kinda how I feel about Malle and his directorial touch. So that means that I could watch him do what exactly and never grow bored? I'm not sure that I know, but I am absolutely positive that he has become one of my very, very favourite filmmakers.
LOL! What a great movie. Amazing wardrobe! And easily the most infectious moment of laughter in cinema history.
left a really bad taste in my mouth, certainly won't hang out with that twisted household
Really loved this film. Extremely entertaining and like Shelley said, very refreshing.
Call me conventional, but I thought the ending of "Murmur of the Heart" hit the perfect note for exiting this experience.
Louis Malle's wonderful film about coming of age and the biggest reason for us boys growing up elsewhere in the world to envy the ones growing up in France.
If he didn't do it_then_I would have been surprised. God damn. Good coming of age film all around less than a minute ago

I adored this family, this is now one of my most cherished films. I couldn't believe what I was seeing during certain scenes, but I also found nothing wrong with it. It all seemed so very normal. And it is .
That moment at the end of the film, when Laurent walks back into his hotel room after a sordid evening to find his father and brothers sitting down for breakfast, and–maybe to cut the tension, maybe for lack of any appropriate response–they all begin to collapse in laughter with one another: that's cinema.
Its true very close to The Squid and the Whale, theme. Murmur of the heart;good music, good characters, strange ending
I came into watching this film not knowing anything about it. Not hearing about any hype of any sort. My brother had the criterion dvd. He lent it to me. I was blasted away. It was glorious. I couldn't stop watching it. I'm the younger brother in my life so I felt a bit of a connection. It was a touching film. Also a MUST SEE.
I love this film, and I love The Squid and the Whale. Noah Baumbach clearly loves this film as well. Brilliant, hilarious ending.
An excellent film indeed! I thought it was funny and it kinda has a wtf ending but it works perfectly with this film.
