Only Herzog could tell this story of one of the most tempestuous – and creatively lucrative – director-actor partnerships in cinema history. Inimitably droll anecdotes from Herzog provide insight into some of his classic films, though I thought the main subject of the story – his relationship with Klaus Kinski, wasn’t fully developed. We saw Kinski the raving lunatic and Kinski the sensitive soul, but it always seemed like there was more to say that wasn’t being said. Not quite as satisfying as I hoped it would be.
