My Best Fiend's only problem is that it could be longer...
There's a line from 'Woyzeck' that Kinski delivers staring right into the camera that sums up 'My Best Fiend' in a comically poetic manner - "Every human being is an abyss. You get dizzy, looking down".
"Every gray hair on my head, I call Kinski." - Herzog
A fabulous and highly personal re-telling by Herzog of his difficult relationship with Klaus Kinski.
A self-narrated tale of Werzog's ups and downs facing Klaustrophobia.
Don't know who is more crazier, actually I think it's Herzog in whom I didn't find any human weakness like with Kinski who is a typical wonerable, unsecure attention whore who tries to hide his weaknesses in rage and aggression. But both are geniuses and it was a great documentary about them.
One of my favorite movies. Wish it were 2 hours longer.
Me enamoré locamente del genio energúmeno de Kinski.
Truly fascinating, Herzog more than anyone proves the ability of the story behind a movie to be almost as interesting and sometimes more so than the film itself. Herzog brings us deeper with all his usual goofiness and profound poetry. Two of the most astounding figures in cinema.
So friendship really is one mind in two bodies fighting for supremacy.
One of the best documentaries I have ever seen. It is not just an exhaustive portrait of a magnificent actor, but it also is a good essay to better understand Herzog's idea of cinema.
this film made me want to know every small detail about Kinski's life to make him such a mad genius.
