Classic all around, one of Eric Rohmer’s best along with “Love in the Afternoon”. It’s amazing how entertaining it is and how he keeps you glued to the screen by unveiling a thousand layers of each character, watching them do things and wondering why they’re doing them, then getting the answer in an unexpected way. What I love about this film and the other moral tales is that how you relate to these characters depends entirely on how you view your own morals. I’m sure every person will get something different out of this movie for that very reason alone.
