A wheelchair bound former singer and her best friend make a cross country trip to Memphis. Through the journey they learn of each other’s tragic pasts and become even more of a support to one another. –Inbaseline
Dahan follows up 'La Vie en Rose' with this misdirected, poorly scripted and overacted film. Dahan doesn't have the feel for the American road movie despite top notch photography by Libatique and a soundtrack by Bob Dylan (in what would become the Together Through Life lp) Whitaker and Zellwegger both fail to bring their characters to realistic life though Renee's take on 'This Land is Your Land' is quite striking.
